Chesapeake Oyster Week (ChOW) is a weeklong celebration of Maryland’s most iconic shellfish. This statewide campaign, led by the Oyster Recovery Partnership in collaboration with the Maryland Department of Agriculture’s Maryland’s Best program, shines a spotlight on the essential role of locally harvested oysters—from their incredible taste to their powerful role in Chesapeake Bay restoration, and supports restaurants that recycle shells to help restore the Bay.
We feature between seven and thirteen varieties each day, including many from Maryland and Virginia. Seasalt is also a proud member of the Oyster Recovery Partnership program, and we recycle all oyster shells once you are done enjoying them.
Chesapeake Oyster Week Highlights at Seasalt:
1. Enjoy half a dozen Chesapeake oysters with a glass of The Vineyards at Dodon Rosé or Sauvignon Blanc for $22.
2. Our Roasted Oysters (a favorite!) made with Chesapeake oysters are available on both the Happy Hour and Dinner Menus.
3. Smoked Oyster Toast is offered during Happy Hour and, for Chesapeake Oyster Week, is also on the dinner menu. Made with Double T oysters from Tall Timbers Oyster Ranch in Maryland.
